The Office Week in Garden Grove

Garden Grove. Nothing ever happens here. Seriously, probably the best thing that ever happened to Garden Grove was that Disneyland moved in next door.

But these past few days have been pretty exciting... A month or two ago, I heard that David Denman (Roy from The Office) was going to be in Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew at the Festival Theatre here in my city. Then a couple of weeks ago, a friend that works at a bar across the street from that theatre told me he spotted David doing karaoke there and took a picture for me. Last Saturday we ended up going there for karaoke ourselves. We almost didn't go in that night. But we got a group together and we walked into the bar area and my friend Julie spotted him right away, sitting at a table with a big group (most likely his cast members). Luckily I had my camera on me and I went up to him and told him we were big fans of his on the show and would it be okay if we got a picture. He said sure and then said we should move to a better spot where the lighting was better (aww) and one of his friends offered to take the picture for us. He is so tall in person, and so gorgeous. He has the prettiest eyes. I was in complete awe. Then after the picture we thanked him and then told him we wanted to see his play and then we talked a little about who he played and everything. He was really cool.

So last night was the night we went to see the play. Here's a picture of the banner advertising it outside of the theatre.

We got there around 7:30 PM and bought our tickets. Then we sat down outside while there was a pre-show about Julius Caesar. A little while later I look towards the will-call and see a really good looking man that I thought looked really familiar. Then I look next to him, and who could it be but Jenna Fischer herself! Then I realized that man next to her was none other than her husband James Gunn. Wow. I told my friend, "Oh my God, Jenna Fischer is here!" and we both stood up really quick. My friend and sister weren't there yet but as soon as they got there we told them who we'd seen. We went inside and saw them sitting in the front row. We wondered if any other cast members would show up but none did. But who cared? JENNA FISCHER was there!!! They were both pretty low key and it didn't seem like there were too many people there that would recognize them but we didn't want to go up to them during the intermission just in case.

David was really good in the play. When he first came out he got applause so they must've been fans. He also really got into the kissing scenes! He's such a great actor, though. We kept watching Jenna's reaction. She seemed to have enjoyed his performance.

Anyway, after the play ended we waited until practically everyone left and then we made our move. Again I did all the talking and I told them both I knew who they were and that we were fans and would it be okay if we got pictures. So my sister took one of all of us and then we switched and I took a picture with my sister in it, but I'm only showing mine. (That's me in the purple shirt).

They sat back down and surprisingly they talked to us for a little while. They asked us questions about what we did for a living and I asked Jenna how her back was and how I had read her MySpace blog and how sweet it was that James took such good care of her. I forget what else we talked about but they were very sweet. She's very soft-spoken and they are both very good looking and are so cute together. I felt like such a dork but they were both laughing and being so nice. We talked for probably five minutes until David came out. We left because we didn't want to be stalker-ish and wait to ask him for another picture.

Long story short, we got our pictures and now I'm sharing them with you guys. It was so cool. I never would have thought I would meet them, and I especially never thought it would be in my hometown!!! I love them both so much more now, and even though I don't like Roy for Pam, I really do hope we still get to see him on the show sometime in the future.
